Ochre Space is proud to announce a landmark exhibition celebrating the work of Japanese master photographer Eikoh Hosoe. Renowned as one of the most influential figures in Japanese photography, Hosoe’s work blends avant-garde aesthetics with profound explorations of identity, mythology, and human emotion.
This exhibition, prepared in collaboration with the artist before his recent passing, will mark Hosoe’s first-ever presentation in Portugal and the first worldwide since his death. It features a carefully curated selection of images from the iconic Ordeal by Roses series, inspired by and centered on the enigmatic figure of Yukio Mishima. This centenary of Mishima’s birth makes the exhibition a fitting homage to two monumental figures of Japanese art and culture.
